Wills and Inheritance

At Brittons Solicitors we have extensive experience in all aspects of Wills, Inheritance Tax Planning, Trusts, Estate Planning, Estate Administration and Estate Litigation. We have solicitors who are able to assist you with the preparation and completion of Will specifically tailored to your needs. Whether you are looking for asimple Will to protect your spouse or children, Power of Attorney, appointment of an Enduring Guardian, or a complex Will using Testamentary Trusts we can help.

Even if you have made a Will before, it may need to be reviewed or even redone. Changes in your health, family, friends, your interests, your nominated Executor, and your employment or business can each be a good reason to review your will.

If you have never made a Will, then you should do so as soon as you can. As well as making an often difficult and distressing time easier for those you leave behind, a Will is a safeguard for the future. If you die intestate – without a Will, or one that only covers part of your assets – your wishes may not be carried out. Instead the Government will apply a statutory formula to decide the division of your assets depending on who is left behind. A properly prepared Will can simplify the administration of a deceseased’s estate and reduce associated costs and taxes, and the team at Brittons Solicitors is available to guide you through what can be a complex process.   If you believe that you have been unfairly treated under the terms of a Will, we may also be able to assist you.
